So somehow when I havent been at work, and I havent been strapped to my board I’ve managed to find time this winter to get my blog project off the ground! What the hell is Übergood you ask?
Well, see, I have been a professional designer (product, graphic & interactive) for a long time now and with the job comes an appreciation for all things with visual appeal. Combine that with decade(s) long addictions for snowboarding, mountain biking and such and I’d like to think I have something unique to blog about – Übergood – a blog about design excellence within the sports industry.
Now I have no intention of giving you the heads up on the latest spangled tennis racquet from Prince or Nike’s new oversized golf driver. Instead I’m going to stick to what I know best (and what I’m interested in) which is basically the ‘action sports’ world for want of a better word! So expect to read about snowboarding, mountain biking, bmx, skateboarding, surfing, streetwear, footwear, outerwear… all from a design perspective and covering all aspects of design – graphic, product, fashion, interactive.
Although I keep saying ‘I’ it is my intent to have other people contribute to Übergood over time, giving it a more rounded and unbiased opinion coz that’s the problem with design, it’s completely subjective.
Ok, enough for day one already.
