Here’s the latest from Flux Bindings and I have to say their ‘09 range is looking like some of the best binders out there! Flux has been one of the few brands that I’ve never had a chance to ride, and although they as a company have been bad-mouthed over the last few years (team rider issues) their products are always met with great reviews. A 1% warranty rate can’t be bad for starters!

When I saw a few early brochure shots of the graphics and colourways Flux are cooking up for ‘09 it got me interested. Hands down they have the hottest range of binding graphics and apparently the design features are not too shabby either… The leather straps are like waterbeds for the feet utilising race-car materials for strength and durability, the shape of the TMS toe-cap cradles the toes rather than crushing them and is an ideal fit for almost every boot, each model has had its flex tuned to suit its application through varying amounts of fiberglass or carbon, and the tool-free adjustability helps you get the perfect fit and position over your board. Phew.

My only gripe is the weight. These puppies come in a good bit heavier than most and even though the Flux designers have managed to trim up to 10% off the average bindings  weight this year, they still feel heavy. But I suppose that’s the price you pay for having pain-free feet and the sickest looking binders on the hill.
